This is a saucerless pot, best suited for moisture-loving plants. Strawberries, mints and Rhipsalis spp. are just three examples which do very well in these baskets. These baskets also help moisture-lovers power through the strong winds which dry other plants and pots out.

Water is retained at the bottom of the pot below the level of the island visible in photo 3. This reduces watering requirements by reducing drying out whilst also retaining a reservoir for roots to tap into. Excess water above the reservoir simply drains out the hole.

If using indoors, water around the edge only so as to trap water around the island. Overwatering will cause water to fall out the hole of course, as will overwatering any indoor pot also cause spillage!
